January 24, 2011 (Nashville, TN) – Lewis Black and John Oates have been added to the lineup of comedians and musical acts that are participating in Ron White’s 4th Annual “Celebrity Salute The Troops”. The event is taking place at the iconic Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville on February 15, 2011 and will air on CMT at a later date. Black joins host White and comedians Kathleen Madigan, Vic Henley, and Tim Wilson plus musical guests Rascal Flatts and John Oates, who will pay with Margo Rey for this amazing night with proceeds going to the Armed Forces Foundation.
“This is my fourth year doing this benefit, and every year it gets better.” Ron said “I am thrilled CMT is going to be airing it so everyone can join in the fun, I’ve gathered some of my close musical and comedian friends and we’re going to see if we can’t bring a few laughs to these soldiers; raise some money, and hopefully lift their spirits. I consider it an honor and a privilege to give back however I can, for the many sacrifices of these incredibly brave men and women.”

Ron White has been a huge supporter of the armed forces. He has traveled overseas performing for the troops at military bases both in the USA and around the world. He took part in the Bob Hope USO Thanksgiving Tour. Ron has been a touring comedian since 1986 and gained national fame in 2000 when he joined the Blue Collar Comedy Tour. Since then, he has gone on to tour solo, selling out venues across North America has been ranked in the top 5 in tour revenue for the past 5 years. White is a Multi-Grammy nominated comedy artist, and all his albums have been certified gold or platinum.
